About TLL. A foundation, not a startup.
TLL is a protocol-level data initiative. It is maintained as a foundation to keep the dataset public, the schema stable, and the commercial incentive aligned with accuracy rather than growth.
Initiative partners
- Företagarna på Åland, the Åland business association, representing the local commerce community that surfaces the "Åland ships like Finland" problem every day.
- Åland Gallup, regional data partner. Contributes anonymized address-bounce and delivery-failure signals that seeded the first canonical profiles.
Terms of service
Developer-tier access is governed by the standard terms at /legal/terms. Enterprise and non-profit access is governed by a negotiated agreement signed during onboarding.
Privacy
TLL stores only what is needed to authenticate and meter API usage: account email (from Supabase Auth), API key metadata, and per-request telemetry with 90-day retention. No end-user PII is retained. Full policy at /legal/privacy.
Data processing agreement
A DPA compliant with GDPR art. 28 is available on request from enterprise customers. Contact sales.
Sources
Every field in the TLL dataset carries a citation. Canonical sources include ISO 3166-1, ISO 3166-2, WIPO ST.3, EU VAT Directive 2006/112, UPU country codes, CLDR translations, and national-law references for hybrid-territory specifics. A browsable source index is published at /docs/sources.
